Lines 21 - 24: Total K-8 Students in School(s): There are 661 students enrolled at Valentine Hills Elementary. This school serves Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Line 22: Total K-8 Students expected to benefit from project: All 661 students attending Valentine Hills will benefit from this project. The trail along County Road E2 gives all students the opportunity to safely walk or bike to the Ramsey County Arden Hills Library, Ramsey County Tony Schmidt Regional Park, and eventually (upon completion of trail) to Perry Park. Line 23: Average daily non-student bikers/walkers expected to benefit from project: The proposed project will benefit Mounds View High School, Bethel University, and recreational walkers. Mounds View High School and Bethel University athletes currently run along Old Snelling Avenue and County Road E2 on a regular basis. Due to lack of trails and sidewalks, the athletes are forced to run within the roadway, creating a dangerous situation. The proposed trails within this project in combination with future trail connections to Bethel University and Mounds View High School, will provide safe pathways and in turn encourage more use. Adult recreational walkers utilize the shoulder on County Road E2 on a regular basis. Additional trails will encourage safe walking and biking, promoting healthy and active lifestyles. Line 24: Estimate current number of K-8 bikerslwalkers at sChool: 119 of the 661 total students are located within the bike/walk zone. This is approximately 18%. Line 25: Schools covered by this project: Valentine Hills Elementary - School District 621 - Principal David L. Beaty - letter is attached. A letter from the School District 621 Superintendent - Jan Witthuhn is included. John Ward, Director of Human Resources is our contact for the grant. Line 26: Enter all roads and road authorities that are affected by the project: County Road E2 - Ramsey County Public Works, Dan Soler, Traffic Engineer, Chatham Avenue - City of Arden Hills, Greg Hoag, Public Works Director. Venus Avenue - City of Arden Hills, Greg Hoag, Public Works Director. A letter of concurrence (Attachment F) is attached from each of the above road authorities.
