The <br />resulting firm is the combination of two great engineering and infrastructure <br />companies. <br /> <br />Edwards and Kelcey (EK) has been recognized as a full-service service <br />national transportation engineering firm. EK has been providing engineering <br />and planning services to federal, state, regional, and municipal clients from <br />our Minnesota Office for over 45 years. EK has a long and successful history <br />of providing technical and engineering services for municipalities and <br />agencies in the Twin Cities area. Our services include roadway design, <br />structures (bridge, tunnel and walls), utilities, traffic engineering, <br />transportation planning, and environmental, facilities management, <br />telecommunications, integrated systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems, <br />construction inspection and construction management projects. <br /> <br />Founded in 1947 by Dr. Joseph Jacobs, the Jacobs Engineering Group has <br />been recognized by industry publications as one of the best providers of <br />architecture and engineering services. The corporation has 70+ offices <br />nationwide. Jacobs Engineering Group has been a publicly-held corporation <br />(NYSE:JEC) headquartered in Pasadena, CA. <br /> <br />The newly merged firm, Jacobs Edwards and Kelcey (JEK), reflects the best <br />of both companies. The Minneapolis office of JEK provides our clients with <br />national and international experience and proficiency, while maintaining our <br />personal relationships and attention to detail. Our unique business model <br />provides for local control and authority, supported by centralized <br />administration, corporate resources, planning and direction. <br /> <br />After reviewing the detailed list of services to be provided to the City of Arden <br />Hills by engineering firms, JEK requests consideration under Item 4 - Traffic <br />Engineering and Transportation Planning. <br /> <br />There are several reasons that we at Jacobs Edwards and Kelcey is <br />interested in providing technical services for the City of Arden Hills: <br /> <br />1. Technical Qualifications -As shown in Figure 1, Jacobs Edwards and <br />Kelcey is currently pre-qualified by Mn/DOT to perform a wide array of <br />technical and engineering services. These pre-qualifications include <br />work types in the traffic engineering and transportation planning <br />categories we are proposing for the City of Arden Hills. <br />2. Experience - JEK has demonstrated success and has staff has <br />recorded excellence in job performance with Mn/DOT, counties and <br />cities within Minnesota and beyond. <br />3. Personnel- The Minnesota staff of JEK is well-suited to perform <br />traffic engineering and transportation planning for the City of Arden <br />Hills. Steve Manhart, JEK's identified client service manager for the <br />City of Arden Hills, has a mix of public agency and private consultant <br />experience within traffic engineering.
