A
rent status of the plans goals and objectives, and then updates can be
prepared to reflect, and adapt to, changes in the college.
Among those discussed in the body of this plan, some of the major
expansion issues that the College is faced with include: maintaining
and elevating academic quality, academic and non-academic schedul-
ing, current site capacity, internal and adjacent land use/ circulation,
growing urban forces, campus image (including its marketing and
recruitment impact), financial forces as it relates to quality and image
of its facilities, recruitment of students and faculty, and the continual
moving target of educational technology.
As part of this Campus Master Plan, a financial model was developed
to outline potential major capital projects costs, and package them into
manageable groups. It should be noted, that as ever changing forces
impact the college, flexibility of the Plan `Framework' allows the Col-
lege to reassess, realign and reorder its facilities priorities... whether
that be 5 or 75 years from now. For success of the physical plan, a
well conceived Capital Campaign needs to be developed, marketed and
diligently managed.
To achieve these construction objectives in support of academic goals,
college administrators need to "stay the course" with Master Plan goals
and objectives. Focusing on both the short term and long term impacts
will assure the long term viability of Northwestern College.
As any successful institution knows, the Mission is its guiding force.
if anything, always test against mission. What is best for the college,
so it can continue to spread God's word.
With yearly reassessment and diligently staying the course, we believe
that this Campus Master Plan will guide Northwestern College well
in to the 21st century.
A"
NORTHWESTERN COLLEGE CAMPUS MASTER PLAN PARTNERS & SIRNY ARCHITECTS SUMM.2
