IV MISSION, OBJECTIVES, ACCREDITATION & AFFFILIATIONS Mission Northwestern College exists to provide Christ -centered higher educa- tion equipping believers to grow intellectually and spiritually, to serve effectively in their professions, and to give God -honoring leadership in the home, church, community, and world. Objectives Northwestern upholds its heritage of biblical distinctives through the vital integration of human knowledge and Divine revelation. The goal of the College is to help develop the whole person, characterized by personal development, spiritual maturity, ethical conviction, intellec- tual curiosity, cultural sensitivity, professional achievement, and faith- ful service to society and the world Spiritual and Ethical Objectives Northwestern provides a relevant alternative to secular education with- out Christian values. Northwestern is a community in which all learn- ing is framed within the Christian worldview found in the Bible. Northwestern promotes a growing love, knowledge, and worship of God seeking to instruct students in those truths Jesus commanded all to observe. Under God's grace and the moral teachings of His word, stu- dents are encouraged to live with humility, honesty, joy, integrity, self- control, and service. Students are encouraged to discern God's truth about the moral issues of our day and realize their fullest potential as Christian witnesses. Northwestern seeks to prepare students to relate their faith to all areas of life, including their academic and professional activities; to think critically from a Christian viewpoint; and to evaluate based upon the Scriptures all human theories and discoveries. Academic Objectives Northwestern is a Christian Liberal Arts College of the Bible, Arts and Sciences, and Professional Education. Northwestern is committed to the integration of faith, learning, and living as it seeks to develop the whole person — the complete Christian. Biblical Studies: Northwestern puts Christ and His Word at the center of all activities. The Scriptures are the integrating core for all programs. The biblical studies component is designed to provide a foundation for life and leads students to develop a Christian worldview.
