C. ILLICIT DISCHARGE DETECTION AND ELIMINATION
Developing and implementing a plan to detect and eliminate illicit discharges to the
storm sewer system.
D. CONSTRUCTION SITE RUNOFF CONTROL
Developing, implementing, and enforcing an erosion and sediment control program
for construction activities. This control measure typically includes silt fences and
temporary stormwater detention ponds.
E. POST -CONSTRUCTION RUNOFF CONTROL
Developing, implementing, and enforcing a program to address discharges of post -
construction stormwater runoff from new development and redevelopment areas.
Applicable controls would include implementing the BMPs discussed previously in this
Plan.
F. POLLUTION PREVENTION/GOOD HOUSEKEEPING
Developing and implementing a program with the goal of preventing or reducing
pollutant runoff from site operations. This control measure typically includes street
and parking lot sweeping twice a year.
In the near term, the College can include some elements of the BMPs presented here into
imminent projects such as landscaping. A good place to start implementing such BMPs
would be in conjunction with the College's ongoing program to control invasive species.
Longer term, the BMPs that have been identified in this Plan should be incorporated into all
development and redevelopment projects. The development of a Stormwater Capital
Improvement Program would also be useful in identifying costs and funding sources for the
implementation of the BMPs.
Northwestern College Master Plan 23 13529.000
Stormwater Management Study
