RV Codes from Surrounding Communities <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />This memo contains items of concem brought up at the October 3cd Planning Commission <br />meeting, as well as possible solutions. Please review the items and provide feedback to <br />staff. The Commission can not take formal action at a work session. <br /> <br />Backe:round <br /> <br />In May 2007, Staff was directed by the Planning Commission and the City Council to <br />examine the current zoning code regarding recreation vehicles. Staff was asked to clarify <br />the definitions used for "recreational vehicle" as well as the methodology for measuring <br />"length" and "height" of RVs. The primary goal of this amendment is to clarify the <br />definitions and build consistency within the RV code. A draft of a revised RV code was <br />proposed in May; however, the project was delayed for additional research. <br /> <br />In response to the Council and Planning Commission's reques1, Staff analyzed the current <br />code and reviewed codes from fifteen other communities in 1he metropolitan area. <br />Comments and discussion were elicited from other City Staff, including the code <br />enforcement officer and the building official.
