The existing pharmacy has been in that location for the 28 years we have been local residents. It is <br />special to have their personal touch and medical "memory" available when our family needs them. <br />Additionally, our family uses the US Post Office - Branch Office on a regular basis. I would not like to have a <br />neighborhood resource which is locally-owned pushed out. <br /> <br />Currently we live a few blocks into Shoreview but much or our business is in the Arden Plaza stores. A new <br />business would be welcome but the scale and infrastructure ofthat area is not suited to any huge stores. <br /> <br />The area does not need another pharmacy. There are currently pharmacies in Target, Cub, as well as, Arden <br />Plaza. There would be no net gain of services if we got another version of a pharmacy at the suggested <br />location. We would almost certainly loose the Arden Pharmacy, which is smaller and would loose business <br />such a large competitor. <br /> <br />Services that are distant from our neighborhood would be convenient if added at this location. My preference <br />of a new service would be a food related establishment, such as a family restaurant, bagel shop or ice cream <br />parlor. <br /> <br />Walgreen's has approached Shoreview about locating a store at 96 & Hodgson Rd. That location is about 4 <br />miles from Arden Plaza and has less pharmacy service nearby. Walgreen's may find the Shoreview location <br />would meet their volume needs better than the Arden Plaza location. From both the infrastructure and service <br />competition perspective, the Shoreview location is a better fit. <br /> <br />Please consider the local service needs when bringing in another business to Arden Plaza. We need our Post <br />Office service.
