4725 Norma Avenue
Arden Hills, MN 55112

October 1, 2007

Arden Hills Planning Commission
Arden Hills City Hall
1245 W. Highway 96
Arden Hills, MN 55112

Dear Commission Members:

I am writing this letter to state my opposition to the proposal to build a Walgreen Drug
Store near the intersection of Lexington Avenue North and West County Road E. It is
my feeling that this proposal to build a "big box" drug store will increase the amount of
traffic at this junction to the point where it will be too congested to allow for normal
traffic flow.

The current businesses at Arden Plaza will experience a negative impact should such
construction be permitted. In addition, we already have a neighborhood pharmacy/gift
shop serving the community quite adequately. If this proposal is allowed to become
reality it will, in my opinion, be another example of the "big box" corporation taking over
and driving out the small local business. Arden Plaza Pharmacy/Gift Store already has
enough competition from the Target Store located only a half mile away.

Please vote "no" to the proposal and support our local business community!

Sincerely,

(/~

Robert Hennen
