In a neighborhood
which already has big box stores like Target and Cub, we do not need a large Walgreens added to the mix,

Arden Plaza Pharmacy, a small independent retailer, and Ace Hardware, already serve our needs. We have
been customers of Arden Plaza Pharmacy for over 30 years. They have provided excellent service, and they
have thousands ofloyal customers. We appreciate the neighborly and friendly service, which is not what we
would expect in a Walgreens.

Please, do not drive a successful business out of Arden Hills just because of a greedy landlord. Neighborhood
values are important, and Arden Plaza already has the right mix of businesses which are appropriate for
our "downtown."

The last thing we need in Arden Plaza is Aldi's Discount Grocery. Better known as a "ghetto grocery," Aldi's
will make Arden Plaza a very undesirable shopping location.

We have lived in this immediate area since] 969, and the civic improvements on Lexington and E over the
years have generally been proper and successful. The current proposal for Arden Plaza's redevelopment does
not fit in with this pattern of success. Please reject the Arden Plaza landlord's proposal.

Thank you,

Steve and Marcia Schultz
1127 Amble Drive
Arden Hills
651-63] -2059

PS: Arden Hills will be making some major retail decisions as TCAPP development gets underway. The town
center in TCAPP would be a good place for a Walgreens, not in Arden Plaza where you would be driving out a
loyal and successful business.

8/29/2007
