3090 N. LEXINGTON AVENUE
ROSEVILLE MN 55113
AUGUST 1, 2007

Planning Commission
City of Arden Hills
1245 West Highway 96
Arden Hills MN 55112

Re: Plan for adding to
Arden Plaza

We do not live in Arden Hills, but just across the line into Roseville. We
have, for years, shopped at Arden Plaza, and are appalled that you want
to bring in an Aldi's and a Walgreens or CVA pharmacy.

. You already have a pharmacy which is trusted and loved by the
customers. We feel like family when we go in there to get our prescriptions
filled. Why you would want to add a new pharmacy is a mystery to us.
There are three Walgreens in Roseville, and the Cub and Target stores
just a couple blocks north of Arden Plaza. How many pharmacies do you
think we need?

The same is true of grocery stores, with the Cub and Target stores just
north of Arden Plaza, another Cub at Har Mar, Byerly's on Snelling, and
the Rainbow on Larpenteur plus the Aldi's on Rice just a few blocks away.

There is already too much traffic on Lexington. Adding those stores will
just add more cars and congestion. We do not plan to shop at either of
those stores if you go ahead with your plan. Haven't you ever heard "if it
ain't broke, don't fix it." Arden Hills is a charming city the way it is. Please
keep it that way.

Sincerely yours,

d)J-~?~

Lee Sperling

Norma Hunter

c:Mayor's office
City Council
