<br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br />EN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />December 6, 2007 <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM 4.C. <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br />Michelle Wolfe, City Administrator <br /> <br />Kristine Giga, Civil Engineer ~ <br />Deb Bloom, City Engineer <br />Greg Hoag, Public Works Director <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Motion to Authorize Staffto Contract with WSB & Associates, Inc. to <br />Provide Civil Engineering Technical Support for the Redevelopment <br />of the TCAAP property <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills approved an engineering consultant pool on August 27,2007 for use on <br />specialized proj ects or projects that the City of Roseville' s Engineering Department may not <br />have the capacity to assist with. <br /> <br />As part ofthe TCAAP redevelopment, the Developer will be preparing engineering plans, <br />reports and other documents for City staffto review. While the City ofRoseville Engineering <br />Department will be able to perform much ofthe review, staff feels that it will be beneficial to <br />have a consultant on board to provide additional support for review of more technical aspects of <br />the redevelopment, such as overall water and sanitary sewer system capacity analysis. <br />Therefore, a request for quotes was submitted to the City's planning pool, consisting ofthe <br />following firms: Kimley-Hom and Associates, Inc., SRF Consulting Group, Inc., URS <br />Corporation, and WSB & Associates, Inc. All four firms provided quotes for the proposed work. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The support to be provided with this contract includes, but is not limited to: review oftechnical <br />documents such as water system plans, sanitary sewer layouts, traffic analyses, storm sewer <br />plans. Meetings with City staff will occur on an as needed basis.
