<br />RFP for Residential Recycling Services <br /> <br />3.9 Markets <br /> <br />Any person or company that buys (or charges) for recycling of specified materials and <br />may include, but are not limited to: end-markets, intermediate processors, brokers and <br />other recyclable material reclaimers, <br /> <br />3.10 Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) <br /> <br />A recycling facility in which recyclable materials are processed, The facility will <br />conform to all applicable rules, regulations and laws of state, local or other jurisdictions, <br /> <br />3.11 Multi-Family Dwellings (MFD) <br /> <br />Any building used for residential purposes consisting of five or more residential units is <br />considered multi- family dwellings (MFDs) and are considered commercial property, <br />Garbage and recycling collection services are contracted directly by the building owners, <br />The City's ordinance is scheduled to be amended by the end of 2007 to ensure all <br />residents have access to recycling, including those living in multi- family complexes, <br /> <br />3.12 Non-Targeted Materials <br /> <br />Non-recyclable materials that are not included in the City's recycling program, <br />Examples of typical non-targeted items include (but are not limited to); pumps on plastic <br />bottles, ceramic material, frozen pizza boxes, plastic tubs such as butter or whipped <br />topping containers, electronics, etc. <br /> <br />3.13 Old Boxboard (OBB) <br /> <br />Boxes including cereal, cake, chip, cracker boxes, etc, Does not include boxboard <br />containers used forrefrigerator or freezer food product storage, <br /> <br />3.14 Old Corrugated Cardboard (OCC) <br /> <br />Cardboard material with double wall construction and corrugated separation between <br />walls. Does rot include plastic, wax or other coated cardboard, <br /> <br />3.15 Old Magazines (OMG) <br />Glossy and non-glossy magazines and catalogs, <br />3.16 Old Newspaper (ONP) <br /> <br />Newspapers including inserts, <br /> <br />3.17 Plastic Bottles <br /> <br />Plastic bottles with a narrow neck including milk jugs, laundry bottles, ketchup bottles, <br />pop bottles, etc. Wide neck containers such as butter or whipped topping containers, are <br />not included, <br /> <br />3.18 Process Residuals <br /> <br />The normal amount of material that cannot be economically recycled due to material <br />characteristics such as size, shape, color, cross-material contamination, etc, and must be <br />disposed as mixed municipal solid waste, Process residuals include subcategories <br /> <br />3 <br />
