Staff recommends dealing with this issue by clarifying the R V regulations. Additional research and discussion will be needed to determine if a 30-foot, 40-foot, or "not closer than the principle structure" is a sufficient front yard setback for RV s. Mr. Lehnhoff noted the Council had remanded back to the Planning Commission the previous planning case regarding the size of an RV. He noted the Commission could either look at this RV storage location issue tonight, or they could take both RV issues at the same time. Commissioner Larson stated he believed the ordinance should be revised and come back to the Planning Commission at a future date. Chair Sand stated at this point Mr. Lunzer was not in violation, so if it was postponed, there would not be any immediate issues. Mr. Lehnhoff stated Mr. Lunzer has been working with staff and he would not be cited at this time. The consensus was that this was open to interpretation and that staff would not issue any citations to Mr. Lunzer as long as the RV was located 30 feet back from the front property line and behind the front side of the dwelling. B. PROPOSED RV ORDINANCE UPDATES Mr. Lehnhoff requested the Commission review the draft RV regulations and provide comments, thoughts, and questions. Commissioner Holewa stated he wanted to address pervious versus impervious surfaces for RV parking. Commissioner Larson stated he wanted to look at the hitch pin issue also. Commissioner Modesette stated she was concerned about the rear setback being five feet. Commissioner Larson stated they should look at measuring the gross length rather than mass length. Commissioner Holewa stated he was not in favor of parking "things" in yards. Chair Sand asked if they might want to hold a workshop to discuss this. Commissioner Holewa noted that would be a good idea. Chair Sand requested staff research other cities as to their regulations.
