<br />~ <br />/],\~HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: January 28,2008 <br /> <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Meagan Beekman, Planner I <br />James Lehnhoff, City Planner <br />Dave Scherbel, Building Official <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Ordinance 2008-001; Planning Case #: 07-025 <br />Recreational Vehicle, Utility Trailer, and Watercraft Outdoor Storage <br />Zoning Code Ordinance Amendment <br />City of Arden Hills <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Motion to Approve Ordinance 2008-001 in Planning Case 07-025 to Amend Section 1305,04, <br />repeal Section 1325,10, and adopt Section 1325,12 of the Zoning Code regarding Recreational <br />Vehicles, Utility Trailers, and Watercraft Outdoor Storage, as Presented in the January 28,2008 <br />Planning Case Memo to the City Council. <br /> <br />Motion to Approve Publishing a Summary of Ordinance 2008-001 for Recreational Vehicle, <br />Utility Trailer, and Watercraft Outdoor Storage as Permitted by Minnesota State Statute 412.191 <br />Subd 4, <br /> <br />Backl!:round <br /> <br />In May 2007, Staff was directed by the Planning Commission and the City Council to examine <br />the current zoning code regarding recreation vehicles, Staff was asked to clarify the definitions <br />used for "recreational vehicle" as well as the methodology for measuring "length" and "height" <br />of R V s, The primary goal of this amendment was to clarify the definitions and build consistency <br />within the RV code. Staff was not directed to make significant policy changes to the existing <br />ordinance at this time.
