<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - January 14, 2008 <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />Councilrnernber Holden stated she would like to see a letter explaining the change in utility <br />rates. Finance Director Iverson replied staff would be working on a letter that would be <br />included in the next two billing cycles. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber Holden commented on complaints about Freeway Park. She stated she would <br />like staff to find a way to build a path to the warming house that did not cross over the ice. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber Holden commented the Super 8 no longer wants to pay the lodging tax for <br />Visit Minneapolis North. She questioned whether staff is researching this. Finance Director <br />Iverson replied staff was working on this. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber Holden requested Finance Director Iverson to comment on the City receiving <br />an award for outstanding achievement from the Government Finance Officers Association <br />(GFOA) for the Popular Financial Report. This was the report mailed to all the citizens with the <br />newsletter last sunnner. She indicated a plaque would be received in six to eight weeks. She <br />stated that a press release and formal presentation is forthcoming. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber Holden requested information on the Sprint cellular towers. City Planner <br />Lehnhoff replied he would like two volunteers to work with him. Mayor Pro Tern Grant and <br />Councilrnernber Holmes volunteered. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber McClung seconded the comments on Mr. Sand. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber McClung reported attending the Lake Johanna Fire Department Relief <br />Association Annual Meeting. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber McClung reported he would attend the Fire Board Meeting on January 16, <br />2008. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber McClung commented the 2008-2012 Capital Improvement Program binder is <br />fantastic and looks forward to additional information being added. He thanked Finance Director <br />Iverson for her work on it. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber Holrnes thanked Mr. Sand and welcomed Clayton Larson to the Planning <br />Commission. She welcomed Mr. Willis. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Grant invited the journalism students to comment at this time. The professor <br />from Bethel University addressed Council and explained the purpose of the attendance of the <br />journalism students at the Council meeting. <br />
