<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Northfield Downtown Plan and Revitalization <br />Strategy <br />While with another firm, Bill Weber prepared a plan for downtown <br />Northfield, Minnesota. A major issue involved possibly relocaling a <br />grocery store to a residential area on the southern edge of downtown in <br />order to retain that retail traffic. Another concern was land use and urban <br />design along a state highway corridor on the opposite side of the river. <br /> <br />Stillwater Downtown Plan <br />While with another firm, Bill Weber participated in the Stillwater, <br />Minnesota, downtown planning process. Features of this plan included <br />context-sensitive infill and building rehabilitation, improved riverfront <br />access, and additional parking in select locations. <br /> <br />Eau Claire Greater Downtown Plan <br />While with another firm, Bill Weber managed the preparatioll of a plan <br />for downtowll Eau Claire as part of the] 992 city-wide plan. Eau Claire <br />is a Main Street community at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau <br />Claire Rivers. Among other ideas, the plan recommended taking better <br />advantage of the river views, redeveloping the North Barstow industrial <br />district, expanding the medical center districl and improving Ihe <br />streetscape to unify and identify the four quadrants 1l0W divided by the <br />fIvers. <br /> <br />Springfield, MO., City Center Plan <br />While with another firm, Bill Weber helped prepare a plan for downtown <br />Springfield, Missouri, and the adjacent neighborhoods as an element of <br />the Springfield Comprehensive Plan, which he also managed. This plan <br />emphasized repositioning the downtown morc strongly toward culture, <br />entertainment and professional offices. Since the plan was completed in <br />] 998, the City has built the first stage of a 200 acre park on former <br />industrial land, built a convention center and ice arena, reopened a creek, <br />attracted new clubs and theatres to dovmtown, and founded a downtown <br />improvement association. <br /> <br />7-6 Arden Hills Small Area Plan for the 82 District <br />
