<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - March 31, 2008 <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated that page I Item I Interstate 694-35E to 35W Project under City <br />Perspective, the third line: should read "The City would like MnDOT to review mitigation <br />measures". <br /> <br />Ms. Kvilvang stated that it was the City who wished to review what was proposed for mitigation <br />measures and the costs associated with that. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead stated that a better alternative for this statement would be "The City would <br />like to review MnDOT's mitigation efforts". <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Council that page I, Item I Interstate 694 35E-35W Project, City <br />Perspective, line 3 should read "The City would like to review MnDOT's mitigation measures <br />and costs to see if noise can be reduced through noise walls." <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Grant seconded a <br />motion to Approve Resolution No. 2008-020 Preliminary Design Positions <br />for the Interstate 694, Highway 10 and County Road 96 Projects as <br />amended. <br /> <br />Councilmember McClung stated that he would like to amend the motion to include that in the <br />position papers that will be attached to the resolution a statement that nothing in this document <br />should imply municipal consent at this time for any project at this time. <br /> <br />There was no second to this amendment. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated that the MnDOT Project Interstate 694 35E-35W Project would <br />have to come to Council for municipal consent at a future date once that project is in Arden <br />Hills. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead asked City Attorney John Miller if there was anything in the resolution that <br />may imply consent for any existing projects that are contemplated from a municipal standpoint. <br /> <br />City Attorney John Miller stated that there was nothing in the resolution documents that <br />implied municipal consent. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant clarified that passing this resolution does not imply municipal consent <br />for any projects and that there is no intention to provide such consent. <br /> <br />The motion carried 3-1 (Councilmember McClung). <br /> <br />E. Motion to Authorize Staff to Contract with Bolton & Menk. Inc. to Provide <br />technical Support for Transportation Proiects. <br /> <br />City Engineer Bloom stated that the City of Arden Hills approved an engineering consultant <br />pool last August. The Staff is recommending that the City hire Bolton & Menk from that pool to <br />assist the City with the highway projects currently underway along with other projects dealing <br />
