City of Arden Hills - Comprehensive Plan - DRAFT
14. IMPLEMENTATION (IN PROGRESS)
Implementation is required to have an effective comprehensive plan. The City must
use this Comprehensive Plan to help guide decision making, set priorities and
develop new policies. However, this document is not set in stone. The Plan must
be evaluated and updated as funding, priorities and opportunities change over
time. The vision, goals policies, and information in this document are meant to
support the City and provide a strategic framework for accomplishing City goals and
maintaining a healthy, vibrant, and stable community.
Most of the other chapters include implementation strategies specific to the chapter
they are in. This allows spending
decisions to be made within the overall context andfuture tanned environment
for the community. While it is important that the City's financial tools implement
the intent of the Comprehensive Plan the Comprehensive Plan cannot predict
every future need, project, or constraint. The Comprehensive Plan is a dynamic
document that can be amended, with careful review, to respond to unanticipated
changes in the City_
14_2 Ordinances
One of the primary tools for implementing the Comprehensive Plan is
ordinances. The City currently uses a number of ordinances including Zoning
Subdivision, Floodplain. Shoreland, and Sign ordinances. Ordinances can be
developed to facilitate many of the goals and policies in_the land use, housing
DRAFT 105
5/1/2008
Deleted: In Progress.T
Deleted: Summary of
implementation
ntation measures from other
chapters%
.
