Interstate 694 — There are two potential locations for pedestrian and bike
connections over Interstate 694. Both connections are critical to a north -south
pathway in Arden Hills.
Lexington Avenue — While there is a pathway on the Shoreview side of the
Lexington Avenue bridge, there is not a path on the Arden Hills side of the
bridge. When the Interstate 694 reconstruction occurs, a pathway should be
provided at this location.
Hamline Avenue/Highway 51 — A pathway across Interstate 694 near Hamline
Avenue/Highway 51 must be constructed when Interstate 694 is reconstructed.
Page 57: [7] Deleted i! The County is currently constructing a pathway
on both sides of the Creek that will eventually be an important connection
to the rest of the City through TCAAP.
In the northeastern corner of the property, 76.5 acres is proposed to be
dedicated for public use (map). While the exact public use of this area has
not been determined, it is known that this area will not be developed. This
area is likely to include some type of regional athletic use, such as ball
fields or soccer fields.
The remaining 42.4 acres are anticipated to be used for community parks,
gathering spaces, and open spaces. The preliminary land use design for
the TCAAP property includes a large park in the central part of the property
and a number of small neighborhood parks along the eastern boundary
(map). The exact layout and use of these parks has not been determined;
however, they are likely to be focused on local park and recreation needs.
As part of the TCAAP redevelopment planning process, a detailed park,
open space, and pathway plan is being prepared, which will likely be
incorporated into this Comprehensive Plan
