<br />City of Arden Hills - Comprehensive Plan - DRAFr <br /> <br />13.6 City Services <br /> <br />In addition to basic infrastructure needs, the City provides a wide array of <br />services, including police and fire protection as well as day to day administrative <br />functions. In 2008, the City had 24 full-time employees. The number of <br />temporary employees changes throughout the year but ranges between five and <br />fifteen at anyone time depending on the time of year. Many of the temporary <br />employees are hired by the Public Works Department for park and recreation <br />services. The City strives to provide all services in an efficient and high-quality <br />manner. <br /> <br />13.6.1 Police <br /> <br />The City contracts with the Ramsey County Sheriffs Office for all policies <br />services. As with all its vendors, the City periodically reviews this arrangement to <br />ensure that the City is obtaining the most cost-effective services for its residence. <br />The Ramsey County Patrol Division is located in Arden Hills at the Joint <br />Maintenance Facility. As development occurs on TCAAP, the City and Ramsey <br />County will evaluate the services provided to the City to determine if additional <br />facilities or services are needed. <br /> <br />13.6.2 Fire <br /> <br />The Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department provides fire fighting services to <br />Arden Hills, Shoreview, and North Oaks. The fire department owns four fire <br />stations: <br />o Station 1 in Arden Hills at 3246 New Brighton Road; <br />o Station 2 in North Oaks at 4676 Hogsdon Road; <br />o Station 3 in Shoreview at 1140 County Road I; and, <br />o Station 4 in Shoreview at 3615 Victoria Street. <br /> <br />As with all its vendors, the City periodically reviews this arrangement to ensure <br />that the City is obtaining the most cost-effective services for its residence. As <br />development occurs on TCAAP, the City and Lake Johanna Fire Department will <br />evaluate the services provided to the City to determine if additional facilities are <br />needed. <br /> <br />13.6.3 Other Cities Services <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills has a full time staff of XX people and a part-time/seasonal <br />staff of approximately XX people to provide a full range of city services.
