<br />City of Arden Hills - Comprehensive Plan - DRAFT <br /> <br />o Round lake Trail Easements - The remaininq easements are needed to <br />complete the trail around the west and south sides of Round lake. <br /> <br />o Tony Schmidt Reqional Park - While Tony Schmidt Park is a Ramsey <br />County park. the City encouraqes the County to expand its facility in <br />accordance with their facility and land needs, The Tony Schmidt Master <br />Plan does list potential land acquisitions. <br /> <br />9.5 TCAAP Redevelopment Park and Recreation Opportunities <br /> <br />9.5.1 TCAAP Redevelopment Area <br /> <br />.of the 585 acres that are part of the proposed TCAAP redevelopment area, <br />nearlY-1Q...8. acres are tentatively planned to be used for parks. open spaces. and <br />a wildlife corridor_ <br /> <br />Approximately 42 acres in the redevelopment area are anticipated to be used for <br />community parks. qatherinq spaces. and open spaces. The preliminarv land use <br />desiqn for the TCAAP property includes a iarqe park in the central part of the <br />propertv and a number of small neiqhborhood parks alonq the eastern boundary <br />(map). The exact layout and use of these parks has not been determined: <br />however. they are likely to be focused on local park and recreation needs. <br /> <br />Forty-nine acres will be used for a wildlife corridor to connect the AHA TS <br />property to the Rice Creek corridor. This area may incorporate pathwavs for <br />public use. <br /> <br />Finally. in the northeast corner of the redevelopment area, 76.5 acres have been <br />desiqnated for an undetermined public use. This area is likely to include some <br />type of reqional athletic use. thouqh an exact use has not been determined. <br />Because this area is separated from the rest of the TCAAP redevelopment area <br />by the wildlife corridor to the south and National Guard properlY to the north. <br />access to this public area has yet to be determined. Access may be provided for <br />vehicles from County Road I and by pedestrian/bike paths throuqh the wildlife <br />corridor.
