<br />Commissioner Modesette stated that the trade-off is to eliminate the gate or it <br />wouldn't be open to the public. Mr. O'Malley stated that if the field were moved, <br />then there wouldn't be a need to eliminate the gate. <br /> <br />Chair Larson stated that it isn't pleasant to play on the soccer fields when there is <br />a baseball field there. <br /> <br />Mr. O'Malley stated that the soccer fields are great. <br /> <br />Chair Larson inquired if Mr. O'Malley would be in favor offencing offthe entire <br />property. Mr. O'Malley stated that he wouldn't be, but he doesn't want to have <br />large crowds walk on his private property. <br /> <br />Chair Larson stated that it is hard to know how many people wiII walk through <br />the area with the gate. <br /> <br />Mr. O'Malley stated that for him personally, it wouldn't matter if it were to be <br />closed, but it is safer for the neighbor kids to walk through the gate instead of on <br />the roads. He stated he would like the gate to be locked during the games. He <br />stated that he would like the school to direct the other teams about the location of <br />the proper place to park. <br /> <br />Chair Larson inquired if Mr. O'Malley has experienced any other problems with <br />Mounds View High School. Mr. O'Malley stated that they have had other <br />problems and the school has tried to be responsive. <br /> <br />Commissioner Holewa inquired about where the cross-country teams have been <br />running. Mr. O'Malley stated that they run on the utility easement. He stated his <br />understanding is that the utility easement doesn't give people the right to walk on <br />his property. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman inquired ifthere will be a charge to attend the games. <br />Ms. Wikelius stated that there will be a charge. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman stated that ifthere was a charge, then the school <br />would need to lock the gate in order to prevent people from accessing it for free. <br /> <br />Commissioner Stodola inquired ifMr. O'Malley still has a key to the gate. Mr. <br />O'Malley stated that it hasn't been locked in several years. He stated that he <br />didn't think that him locking it was the neighborly thing to do. <br /> <br />Commissioner Stodola stated that ifthere was a game going on and there was an <br />issue, he would have a key to go and lock the gate. <br /> <br />Jim Hanton, 3947 Rolling Hills Road, stated he agrees with Mr. O'Malley's <br />statements.
