<br /> i <br /> <br /> <br /> BUILDINGS § 6-163 <br /> <br /> Porosity: An index of the void characteristics of a soil as <br /> it pertains to percolation. <br /> Turbidity: A condition of a liquid due to fine visible <br /> material in suspension, which may not be of sufficient size <br /> to be seen as individual particles by the naked eye but <br /> which prevents the passage of light through the liquid. <br /> Yield: The quantity of water flow (gallons per minute or <br /> per hour) which can be collected (pumped) from the well. <br /> (Ord. No. 56, § 2, 9-12-60) <br /> 8ec. 6-162. Purpose. <br /> <br /> The provisions of this article have been enacted for the <br /> benefit and protection of property owners as well as the <br /> public. Each and every contract for the performance of work <br /> of a type regulated by this article shall by implication <br /> include a covenant on the part of the one who ia to perform <br /> the work that, except to the egtent that compliance with this <br /> article has been modified or waived, the work ahall be <br /> , performed strictly in accordance with the applicable <br /> provisiona of this article. (Ord. No. 56, § 6, 9-12-60) <br /> Sec. 6-163. Inspectiona. <br /> The plumbing inspector is charged with the responsibility <br /> of conducting regular inspections upon the construction or <br /> major reconstruction of all wells within the city. Such <br /> inspections shall be made as Prequently and as egtensively <br /> as, in his opinion, are necessary to obtain strict compliance <br /> with the provisiona of this article. In any situation where <br /> the plumbing inspector has a serious doubt as to the <br /> proposed location of a well or the type of construction of a <br /> well, he shall prohibit all further work on such proposed <br /> ~ well for a period of not to exceed thirty (30) days, and within <br /> said thirty (30) day period the plumbing inspector shall <br /> make appropriate inquiry with the atate department of <br /> health to determine whether the proposed construction or <br /> location constitutes a health menace. Within said thirty (30) <br /> day period the plumbing inspector shall take final action <br /> 339 <br />
