<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> § 11-2 ARDEN HILLS CODE <br /> <br /> Private dump: All land or parcela of land on which <br /> nonputrescible refuse ia accepted for deposit or permitted to <br /> be deposited regardless of whether a charge is made <br /> therefor. <br /> Refuse: All waste substances including garbage as well as <br /> combustible and noncombustible wastes. <br /> Sanitary landfill: A type of operation in which refuse is <br /> deposited by plan on a apecified portion of open land, is <br /> compacted by forces applied by mechanical equipment, and <br /> then is covered by a layer of earth, ashes or suitable <br /> material to a depth of at least two (2) feet. (Ord. No. 97, § 2, <br /> 9-12-66) <br /> Sec. 11-3. Depositing restricted. <br /> No person shall deposit or cause to be deposited any <br /> garbage or other refuse upon any vacant lot or other tract of <br /> land, whether platted or unplatted, or upon any ground <br /> appurtenant to any building in the city egcept in the <br /> manner provided by this chapter. (Ord. No. 43, § 2, 7-29-59) <br /> Sec. 11-4. Storage. <br /> <br /> Egcept as otherwise provided in this section all garbage <br /> and other refuse shall be kept in rust-resistant, watertight, <br /> nonabsorbent and easily washable containers which are <br /> equipped with a bail or handles and covered with <br /> close-fitting lids. Insofar as practicable, all garbage shall be <br /> drained of liquids and wrapped in papers. Containers shall <br /> have a capacity of not less than ten (10) nor more than <br /> thirty (30) gallons and shall be provided in sufficient <br /> number to hold all garbage and other refuse accumulating <br /> ' between collections. Insofar as practicable, boges, papers, <br /> tree cuttings, and odd articles shall be cruahed and placed <br /> outaide of such containers in bundlea not egceeding three (3) <br /> feet in length and fifty (50) pounda in weight. All containera <br /> shall be washed and treated with a disinfectant as often as <br /> necessary to prevent nuisance. Such containers shall be <br /> kept in an accessible location . for collection and shall be <br /> ~ <br /> 632 <br /> <br /> I <br /> ~ <br />
