<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> § 19-1 ARDEN HILLS CODE <br /> <br /> voided. All other personnel policies contained herein shall con- <br /> tinue in full force and effect. (Ord. No. 275, 1-2-91) <br /> <br /> Sec. 19-2. Application. <br /> (a) The provisions of this chapter shall apply to all employees <br /> of the city except the following: <br /> (1) All elected officials. <br /> <br /> (2) Temporary employees and parttime employees other than <br /> regular parttime employees. <br /> ' (3) Consultants and others rendering professional services on <br /> a fee basis. <br /> (4) Volunteer personnel and personnel appointed to serve <br /> without pay, including members of boards and commis- <br /> sions. <br /> (5) Emergency appointees serving with or without pay. <br /> (b) In the event that strict compliance with the provisions of <br /> this personnel chapter might produce practical difficulties or un- <br /> usual hardships, the city council shall have the power to vary any <br /> such provision(s) in light of the purpose and intent of this chapter <br /> and to the extent consistent with governing law in order that the <br /> interests of justice and fairness may be served. (Ord. No. 275, <br /> 1-2-91) <br /> <br /> Sec. 19•3. Equal employment opportunity and sexual ha- <br /> rassment policy. <br /> (a) Equal employraent opportunity. It is the policy of the city to <br /> provide equal employment opportunity to all persons. All employ- <br /> ment policies and practices shall be nondiscriminatory in compli- <br /> ance with federal laws, state statutes and local ordinances. No <br /> individual shall, on the basis of race, color, creed, religious or <br /> political affiliation or belief; national origin, sex, age (Minnesota <br /> legal age to age seventy (70)), marital status, disability or status <br /> with regard to public assistance, be excluded from employment or <br /> be subjected to discrimination regazding any and all terms and <br /> conditions of employment by the city. <br /> Supp. No. 21 <br /> 1098 <br />
