TITLE, PURPOSE AND STATUTORY <br /> AUTHORIZATION <br /> Sec. 20.5-1. Title. <br /> This chapter shall be known, cited as and referred to as the <br /> "Arden Hills Shoreland Management Ordinance" or the "Shoreland <br /> Management Ordinance" except as referred to herein where it <br /> shall be known as "this chapter". (Ord. No. 237, § 1.A, 9-30-85) <br /> <br /> Sec. 20.5-2. Purposes and intents. <br /> The uncontrolled use of shorelands of the City of Arden Hills <br /> affects the public health, safety and general welfare not only by <br /> contributing to pollution of public waters, but also by impairing <br /> the local tax base. Therefore, it is in the best interests of the <br /> public health, safety and welfare to provide for the wise devel- <br /> opment of shorelands of public waters. The Legislature of Minne- <br /> sota has delegated responsibility to the municipalities of the <br /> state to regulate the subdivision, use and development of the <br /> •Editor's note-Ord. No. 237, 1-7, adopted Sept. 30, 1985, did not apecifi- <br /> cally amend the Code; hence, the provisions of said Ord. No. 237 have been <br /> , included herein aa Ch. 20.5, 20.5-1-20.5-3, 20.5-11-20.5-14, 20.5-21, 20.5-22, <br /> 20.5-26-20.5-34, 20.5-41-20.5-50, 20.5-56-20.5-58, and 20.6-66.
