<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> SIGNS § 21-10 <br /> I <br /> Sec. 21-10. Construction, maintenance and iuspec- <br /> tion. <br /> (A) Construction: <br /> (1) The construction of all signs permitted by this chapter <br /> shall be made in accordance with the provisions of the <br /> Uniform Sign Code published by the International <br /> Conference of Building Officials. <br /> (2) No sign or sign structure shall be erected in such a <br /> manner that any portion of its surface or supports <br /> will interfere in any way with the free use of any fire <br /> escape, exit or standpipe. No sign shall obstruct any <br /> window. Signs shall be so located as to maintain all <br /> required clearances from overhead power and service <br /> lines. ' <br /> (3) The source of light for illuminated signs shall be <br /> shielded and directed in such a manner that it is not <br /> directly visible from adjoining property and will not <br /> create a traffic hazard. <br /> (4) Sign support structures for all freestanding signs <br /> except ground signs shall be limited to posts or <br /> columna not in excess of that commonly required to <br /> support the size and weight of the sign. <br /> (B) Maintenance. All signs and sign structures shall be <br /> properly maintained and shall be kept in a safe orderly <br /> condition. In addition, all parts and supports shall be <br /> properly painted. Any sign or sign structure which is rotted, <br /> unsafe, deteriorated, defaced or otherwise altered, shall be <br /> repainted, repaired or replaced by the licensee, owner or <br /> agent of the owner of the property upon which the sign <br /> stands, upon written notice of the administrator. <br /> (C) Inspection: <br /> (1) Every sign hereafter erected shall have painted or <br /> designated in a conspicuous place thereon, the permit <br /> number of the City of Arden Hills.
