<br /> <br /> <br /> § 26-3 ARDEN HILLS CODE <br /> <br /> (2) During a period of time commencing immediately after the <br /> accumulation thereon of two (2) inches or more of snow and <br /> continuing until snow removal or plowing has been com- <br /> pleted. <br /> (Ord. Same-Impoundment of vehicle. <br /> <br /> Any vehicle parked in violation of section 26-3 is hereby de- <br /> clared to be a traffic safety hazard and nuisance, and the same <br /> may be summarily abated by removing and towing away such <br /> vehicle by or under the direction or at the request of any member <br /> of the police department. Such vehicle shall be stored at such <br /> place within or without the city as may be directed by the police <br /> department; and within fourteen (14) days of such impounding, <br /> the chief of police shall mail written notice thereof to the owner at <br /> his last known address according to the vehicle registration records <br /> of the secretary of state. Before the owner or his agent shall be <br /> permitted to remove the vehicle from the custody of the police, he <br /> shall furnish satisfactory evidence of identity and ownership of <br /> the vehicle, pay all reasonable charges for the towing and storage <br /> of said vehicle and sign a written receipt for said vehicle. <br /> As an alternative to the foregoing, the police officer may re- <br /> quire the owner of an illegally parked vehicle to remove said <br /> vehicle from the subject street or highway during the times lim- <br /> ited above. Same-Prima facie evidence. <br /> The operation, use or parking of a motor vehicle in violation of <br /> section 26-3 shall be prima facie evidence that said motor vehicle <br /> was at the time of such violation controlled, operated and used by <br /> the owner thereof. Unreasonable acceleration-Prohibited. <br /> Unreasonable acceleration of any motor vehicle on any public <br /> or private road or way within the city, as unreasonable acceler- <br /> ation is herein defined, is hereby declared to be a public nuisance <br /> and is prohibited.
