The term used to indicate the size and setbacks <br /> of buildings or structures and location of same with respect <br /> to one another and includes the following: <br /> (a) Size and height of buildings or structures; <br /> (b) Location of exterior walls at all levels in relation to <br /> lot lines, street or to other buildings or structures ; <br /> (c) Groas floor area of buildings or sfixuctures in relation <br /> to lot area (floor area ratio) ; <br /> <br /> (d) All open apaces allceated to buildings or structnres; <br /> and <br /> (e) Amount of lot area per dwelling unit. <br /> (19) Bulk materials. Uncontained aolid matter such as pow- <br /> der, grain, stone, sand, sulphur, etc., that has a tendeney <br /> to become airborne. <br /> (20) Building. A atructure which ia designed and suitakrle <br /> for the habitation or ahelter of human •beings or animals, or <br /> the ahelter or storage of property, or is used for trade or <br /> manufacture. <br /> (21) Building, accessory. A subordinate building, the use of <br /> which is incidental ko that of the principal building or use <br /> of the lot. <br /> (22) Buildinq, principal. A building in which the principal <br /> use of the lot on which it is located is conducted. <br /> <br /> (23) Building height The vertical distance from the average <br /> elevation of the grade along a face of a building to the highest <br /> point of the roof surface of flat roofs, the deck line of mansard <br /> roofs, or the average height between the eaves and highest ridge <br /> of gable, hip, or gambrel roofs. The height of a stepped or terraced <br /> building shall be the height of the tallest segment of the building. <br /> (24) Business. Any occupation, employment or enterprise <br /> wherein merchandise is exhibited and sold, or which occu- <br /> pies time, attention, labor and materials, or whereby services <br /> are offered for compensation. <br /> BupP.
