<br /> MERCIAL RECREATION, AND PROVfDfNG PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION. - -
<br /> The Village Council of the Villege of Arden Hills does r:hereby ordain as follows:
<br /> Section 1. Purpose. It is the inTention of the Councilto
<br /> provide herein regulaTOry procedures covering various
<br /> ~ forms of Comme[cial recreation in the Village of Arden
<br /> Hills, fo the end ThaT the public welfare shall be protecTed and promoted. License fees.provided herein
<br /> may be varied from time to time in the ordinance
<br /> esfablishinga Tableof License Fees for The Vfllage, and reference should be made to such ordinance -and
<br /> amendmenis thereof with respect To current license fees after the effective tlaTe of This ordinance (Ord. No. 151 as
<br /> amended). The "businesses^ proposed to be regulated
<br /> herein are Those conducTed for a profiT in which fees or
<br /> charges of some kind are customarily made or ace
<br /> proposed to be made. . -SeCtion 2. License Requiretl. Any person or persons,
<br /> company, parTnership, or corporation which shall
<br /> engage or propose to engage in the business of con-
<br /> tlucting or operaTing bingo games, bowling alleys,
<br /> children's amusement devices (coin-operated,
<br /> mechanical kiddy rides);. dance halls, miniaTure golf
<br /> courses, pinball machines, pool or billiard tables, roller
<br /> or ice skaTing rinks, indoor shooTing galleries, tennis -
<br /> dub, squash, curling or handball lanes or couris, cir- -
<br /> cuses or carnivals, movie theatres or private clubs for
<br /> profits shall first apply for and obTain a license
<br /> hereunder.
<br /> Section 3. License Application. ApplicaTion for a
<br /> license shall be made To the Clerk-Administralor. Such
<br /> applicaTion shall sTate the full name and address of the
<br /> owner or owners of the busihess, the proposed IocaTion
<br /> of the business, the nature of the business and Such
<br /> other relevanT informaTion as the Clerk-AdminisTrator
<br /> may require for the purposes hereof.
<br /> Seciion 9. License Fees. SubIecT fo revision hereafter
<br /> by the ordinance establishing the Table M License Fees
<br /> for Arden Hills, (now Ord. No. 151), reference to-which
<br /> ardinance should be matle afier ihe effective date of This
<br /> ordinance as to currenT license fees, the fees foY the
<br /> activities regulatetl herein Shall be as follOws:
<br /> (a) Bingo - $Sforeachdayofplay. -
<br /> (b) Bowling Alley - $10 per lane. -
<br /> (c) Children's amusemenT devices - 45 (liability
<br /> insurance required).
<br /> (d)- Dance kall - $50. ,(e) MiniaTure Golf Course - $10.
<br /> (f) Pin6all machines - $10 per machine. , .
<br /> (9) Pool antl Billiard tables:
<br /> First table - $10. -
<br /> Each add'I Table - $5.
<br /> (h) Roller skaTing or Iceskating rink-550.
<br /> (i) Indoor shooting gellery - $25. ,
<br /> (j) Tennis Club, Curling, Squash, hand6all - $10 per
<br /> lane or court.
<br /> (k) Movie Theafres: Less than 4$0 seats - $100.
<br /> 450 seats or more - 8300.
<br /> DriveJn - $300. Settion 5. Children's Amusement Devices - LiabiliTy -
<br /> Insurance Required. No license shall be issued for
<br /> operation of children's amusement devices unless the
<br /> applicant shall first obtain and file wiTh the Village of -
<br /> Arden Hills a policy of liabiliTy insurance or a cer-
<br /> . tificate of such a policy in an insurance company
<br /> auThorized fo do business in MinneoTa. The policy shall -
<br /> insure iheapplicanT in the sum of $25,000-for each
<br /> person; $100,000 for each accident; and $10,000 for
<br /> pYOperTy damage. The policy or certificate shail further
<br /> provitle ihaT notice W cancellltbn thereof shall be given

<br /> with all applicable federal and sfata laws and or-
<br /> dinances of This Village. All license applications must
<br /> receive the approval of The Police Department of Artlen
<br /> Hills and approval of the Council of Arden Hilis before
<br /> issuance of the same by the Clerk-AdminisTraTOr. In the
<br /> event of recommentlation to The.Council for denial or
<br /> cancellaTion of any license hereunder the Council shall,
<br /> unless immediate cancellaTion is required by pressing
<br /> public interest, give the licensee or applicant an op-
<br /> porTunity for publ,ic hearing before the Council with -
<br /> respecYto the applicaTion or license. In the event can-
<br /> cellation is necessary immediaTely, such cancellation
<br /> shall be temporary unfiil the licensee is given the op-
<br /> ~ porTOniTy for such hearing. -
<br /> Secfion 7. Penalties Provided. Any violation of this
<br /> Ordinance shall be groUnds for cancellaTion of the
<br /> I

<br /> and-or 90 days in jail-. . I
<br /> Section S. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in
<br /> ~ effecT from and afTer January 1, 1973, but not pri0r to its 'passage and publication.
