ARDEN HILLS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL- JUNE 23, 2008 2 Public Works Director Hoag updated the Council regarding damage that occurred from a recent windstorm at Ingerson Park. He stated the Council authorized expenditure up to the City Administrator's authorized spending limit of $7,500. Most of the tree removal has occurred but there was $3,000 to $5,000 worth of work remaining. He requested Council authorization to spend an additional $5,000, not to exceed a grand total of $12,500, to complete removal of damaged trees from the Park. MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a motion to authorized staff to expend an additional $5,000 beyond the City Administrator's authorized spending level of $7,500, up to $12,500, to complete removal of damaged trees [rom Ingerson Park, as requested. The motion carried unanimously (3-0). Councilmember McClung asked how many trees were removed. Public Works Director Hoag stated he will work with Dave Winkel who did the initial survey but estimated 26 trees were completely lost or damaged. Councilmember McClung asked if there was damage to any resident's homes. Public Works Director Hoag stated Mr. Stolp's shed sustained some damage. He advised that the damage was localized to the Park but noted there was an additional five trees damaged and branches down in other areas of Arden Hills. Mayor Harpstead stated he talked to the son of Mr. Stolp who expressed his appreciation for the immediate attention and professional work done by the City. He asked Public Works Director Hoag to relay that information to staff and the contractor.. ADJOURN MOTION: Mayor Harpstead moved and Councilmember McClung seconded a motion to adjourn the Special City Council Meeting.
