<br />ARDEN HILLS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL- JUNE 23, 2008 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />Public Works Director Hoag updated the Council regarding damage that occurred from a recent <br />windstorm at Ingerson Park. He stated the Council authorized expenditure up to the City <br />Administrator's authorized spending limit of $7,500. Most of the tree removal has occurred but <br />there was $3,000 to $5,000 worth of work remaining. He requested Council authorization to <br />spend an additional $5,000, not to exceed a grand total of $12,500, to complete removal of <br />damaged trees from the Park. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a motion <br />to authorized staff to expend an additional $5,000 beyond the City Administrator's <br />authorized spending level of $7,500, up to $12,500, to complete removal of <br />damaged trees [rom Ingerson Park, as requested. The motion carried unanimously <br />(3-0). <br /> <br />Councilmember McClung asked how many trees were removed. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Hoag stated he will work with Dave Winkel who did the initial survey <br />but estimated 26 trees were completely lost or damaged. <br /> <br />Councilmember McClung asked if there was damage to any resident's homes. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Hoag stated Mr. Stolp's shed sustained some damage. He advised that <br />the damage was localized to the Park but noted there was an additional five trees damaged and <br />branches down in other areas of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead stated he talked to the son of Mr. Stolp who expressed his appreciation for the <br />immediate attention and professional work done by the City. He asked Public Works Director <br />Hoag to relay that information to staff and the contractor.. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Harpstead moved and Councilmember McClung seconded a motion to <br />adjourn the Special City Council Meeting.
