Unit prices have increased in the past year, which can be attributed to rising <br />materials and transportation costs. <br /> <br />The amount in the 2008 budget for 1&1 related work is $100,100. Since sewer main lining <br />receives only partial credit towards the 1&1 surcharge (approximately 500/0), staff and the City's <br />1&1 consultant (Chuck Janski, Bonestroo) feel that the budgeted dollars should be applied <br />towards a project(s) where 1000/0 of the costs can be applied to the surcharge, and also will be <br />more effective in inflow reduction, such as smoke testing and a manhole rehabilitation project. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Reject Sanitary Sewer Lining Bids. <br />
