<br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />December 4, 2008 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br />Ron Moorse, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Kristine Giga, Civil Engineer <br />Greg Hoag, Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />2009 Pavement Management Program- Glenarden Neighborhood <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />At the September 8, 2008, meeting, the City Council approved resolution 2008-030 ordering the <br />feasibility report for the 2009 PMP- Glenarden Neighborhood, and authorized staff to contract <br />with Bolton & Menk, Inc. to complete the report. <br /> <br />Three informational meetings were held with the property owners, on June 21, 2007, <br />December 6, 2007, and December 2, 2008. Topics of discussion included the City's <br />assessment policy, an overview of typical street reconstruction project, and the proposed <br />improvements for the neighborhood. <br /> <br />In accordance with City Council direction, a feasibility report has been prepared that details <br />the proposed design, neighborhood impact, and estimated cost of the proposed project. An <br />overview of the feasibility report was shared with the neighborhood at our December 2 <br />information meeting. A copy of the completed feasibility report is attached. Representatives <br />from Bolton & Menk will attend the City Council meeting to present the results. The next <br />step in the process is for the City Council to accept the feasibility report and to schedule <br />public hearings. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br /> <br />This project has major financial implications for the city including the following: <br />1.
