<br />12/4/2008 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />during the feasibility report preparation, and have reinitiated contact with Canadian Pacific <br />Railroad on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br /> <br />The feasibility report states the estimated cost for improvements to the bridge and associated trail <br />construction to match into existing conditions is about $220,800. The engineering, which is <br />included in the total cost, is estimated at $37,000 and should be added to the 2009 budget. We <br />have asked Bolton & Menk to provide us with a scope of services and more detailed breakdown <br />for the design engineering. <br /> <br />The costs to complete design for the bridge improvements will be paid for out of the Special <br />Revenue Parks Fund. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Receive the Feasibility Report for the Old Snelling Avenue/Old Highway 10 Trail and authorize <br />staff to expand the scope of services with Bolton & Menk, Inc. to include final design of CP Rail <br />Bridge improvements for a pedestrian crossing in an alTIOunt not to exceed $37,000. <br />
