<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - December 8, 2008 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Kristine Giga stated at the work session the figure for the County <br />Road E Bridge was $376,000 and it was increased to $400,000. The $450,000 <br />could be adjusted to $400,000. The $400,000 was to construct a pedestrian <br />walkway. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant asked if this was for one side of the bridge or for both <br />sides. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Giga stated that the price was for one side of the bridge. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated that amount required to do one side of the bridge <br />had not been as high previously. He stated that the bridge and the trail to Lindy's <br />was $450,000. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Manager Olson stated that the bridge was $376,000 and the <br />sidewalk option either north or south had additional costs. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead stated that on the east side there will be some requirements for <br />retaining walls. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated that utility work will have to be done as well. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead stated that the figure could be left at $450,000 with the <br />understanding that the Council would not spend any more than needed for the <br />project. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Grant moved and Mayor Harpstead seconded a <br />motion to Approve the 2009 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) as <br />presented with the following changes: <br />1.) Remove the Cummings Park Irrigation proj ect <br />2.) Remove the Hazelnut Outfield Fence project <br />3.) Adjust the Sanitary Sewer Lining Rehabilitation to $75,000 <br />4.) Add $37,000 for the CP Rail Bridge Feasibility Engineering Study <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes stated that the previous figure for the planning of the CP <br />Rail Bridge was $70,000. She asked if this figure had been decreased. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Giga stated that the total project costs for the CP Rail Bridge was <br />estimated at $225,000 and it was estimated that $70,000 would come from the Park <br />fund and the balance would come from using State Aid dollars. <br />
