<br />.- <br />_IIaHILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: July 13, 2009 <br /> <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Meagan Beekman, City Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Planning Case #: 09-010 <br />Conditional Use Permit Amendment <br />Ramsey County Public Works Facility <br />1411 Paul Kirkwold Drive <br /> <br />Request <br /> <br />Approve Planning Case 09-010 for a Conditional Use Permit Amendment at 1411 Paul Kirkwold <br />Drive Based on the Findings of Fact and the Submitted Plans as Amended by the Three <br />Conditions in the July 13, 2009, Memo to the City Council. <br /> <br />Back2round <br /> <br />The applicant, Ramsey County, has requested a CUP Amendment to construct a 1,800 square <br />foot addition to the Ramsey County Sherriff Patrol Station. This is Building 5 of the Ramsey <br />County Public Works Facility (RCPWF), a 35-acre complex of five buildings also containing the <br />City of Arden Hills Public Works Garage. The proposed addition would create space for a new <br />Disaster Recovery Computer Center within the existing patrol station. This recovery center <br />would not require any additional staff on site; it would be a remotely monitored data storage site <br />utilized only in emergencies. The addition would utilize the same design and height Gust over 1 7 <br />feet) as the existing building with dimensions of approximately 59 feet by 31 feet. It would be <br />located at the southern end of the patrol station, extending towards Hamline Avenue (see <br />Attachment C).
