ltw-- <br />,,,--ARQEN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: August 5, 2009 <br />TO: Planning Commission <br />FROM: Meagan Beekman, City Planner <br />SUBJECT: Report from the City Council <br />July 13, 2009, City Council Meeting <br />The City Council unanimously adopted Planning Case 09-010 for a CUP Amendment to the <br />Ramsey County Public Works Facility to allow a 1,800 square foot addition on the south side of <br />the Sheriff s Station. The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of this <br />item at their July 8, 2009, meeting. <br />The City Council voted (4-1) to approve the Master PUD, Final PUD for Phase I, and <br />Preliminary and Final Plat for the redevelopment of Arden Plaza and the construction of a <br />Walgreen's Pharmacy. The City Council added a few conditions, including reducing the <br />Planning Commission's recommended amount of wall signage on Building #1 down to 99 square <br />feet, requiring the signage on Building #5 to be cleaned up prior to the issuance of any building <br />permits, and limiting the hours in which the "bell tower" may be lit. The Planning Commission <br />unanimously voted to recommend approval of this item at their June 3, 2009, meeting. <br />The City Council voted (3-2) to deny AT&T's application to construct a cellular tower and <br />related equipment on Bethel University's Campus. The Planning Commission unanimously <br />voted to approve this application at their June 3, 2009, meeting. <br />July 27, 2009, City Council Meeting <br />The City Council unanimously approved a request from CMK Arden Holdings to extend the <br />deadline for application of building permits for Phase I of the Traverse Business Center until <br />July 30, 2011. The Planning Commission and City Council first approved this project in 2006. <br />The City Council unanimously approved amendments to Section 1305.04 and Section 1325.09 of <br />the City's Zoning Code regarding antennas and towers.
