--AI�EN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: August 5, 2009 <br />TO: Planning Commission <br />FROM: Meagan Beekman, City Planner <br />SUBJECT: Shoreland Management Ordinance Work Session <br />City of Arden Hills <br />Requested Action <br />The Planning Commission is being asked to discuss the attached draft of the Shoreland <br />Management Ordinance, and related zoning code changes, and provide feedback and comments <br />to Staff. No formal action will be taken. <br />The proposed amendments would impact three sections of the Zoning Code: <br />• Section 1305.04, Definitions <br />• Section 1330, Shoreland Regulations <br />• Section 1325.07, Performance Standards <br />In addition to the ordinance as a whole, Staff is requesting thoughts, feedback, and direction on <br />the specific items that are highlighted in the draft ordinance in Attachment B. These items are as <br />follows: <br />1. Permitting one accessory storage shed within the rear yard of lake shore lots under certain <br />conditions. <br />2. The treatment of setbacks on undeveloped lots when both adjacent lots have existing <br />structures. <br />3. Prohibiting items that are in a state of disrepair, inoperable, or otherwise unusable from <br />being stored outdoors on lake shore lots. <br />4. Limiting the amount of vegetative clearing and grading within the shore impact zone. <br />5. Allowing a credit on impervious coverage when pervious pavers and other such materials <br />are used. <br />6.
