<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - June 29, 2009 <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />6. At the present time the City believes that approximately 500 acres <br />should be dedicated to park land, open space and recreational areas <br />as a regional park <br />7. At the present time the City believes that the remaining acres <br />should be used for other compatible uses such as a corporate <br />campus. <br />The motion carried (3-1 - Mayor Pro Tem McClung). <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Grant <br />seconded a motion to amend guideline Item 6 of the Resolution to read <br />as: <br />6. At the present time the City believes that approximately 475 acres <br />should be dedicated to park land, open space and recreational areas <br />as a regional park <br />The motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated that if the property was going to be park land then it <br />would have to be cleaned to a higher standard. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden stated that a more definite time frame should be <br />established. If a plan could not be established for the property to become park land <br />and open space within ten to fifteen years she may no longer support this plan. <br /> <br />City Attorney Filla suggested a three year time frame for developing a plan. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant clarified that the Council supports this vision if it can be <br />accomplished in three years otherwise alternative visions may be considered. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden stated that this would be acceptable. <br /> <br />City Attorney Filla stated that Item #8 could read "The Council shall review these <br />guidelines no later than June 2011." <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Holmes <br />seconded a motion to amend the guidelines of the Resolution by <br />adding the following: <br />8. The Council shall review these guidelines no later than June 2011 <br />The motion carried (3-1 - Mayor Pro Tern McClung). <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant asked Councilmember Holmes if she wanted the <br />Resolution to state that this is the adopted plan of the Council.
