Andersen Memorial Trail Connection Project <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Arden Hills contracted with Kimley-Horn for engineering services related to the Safe <br />Routes to School Project on August 25, 2008. City Council directed staff to combine the Perry <br />Park pathway with the Safe Routes to School Project and apply for American Recovery and <br />Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding. The City was officially awarded ARRA grant funding on <br />June 10, 2009 for this combined project, now identified as the Elmer L. Andersen Memorial <br />Trail Connections. Staff reviewed the costs for this project at the June 15, 2009 City Council <br />Work session. <br />BUDGET <br />Typically Engineering fees run between 15 to 20% of project cost. For estimating purposes, staff <br />uses 17% for these fees. The overall estimated engineering fees for the Elmer L.
