CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br /> Chair Peck called the March 17, 2009, meeting of the Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee to <br /> order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Committee Chair John Peck, Committee Members Rich Straumann — <br /> Jody Hilgers, Don Messerly, Lanny Baumann and Steve Scott. <br /> OTHERS PRESENT: Council Liaison Fran Holmes, Park and Recreation Manager Michelle <br /> Olson, and Public Works Director Greg Hoag. <br /> MEMBERS NOT PRESENT: Committee Members CindyGarretson Larry Jones Nancy <br /> � y y <br /> O'Malley, and Harold Peterson. <br /> 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Messerly motioned to approve the agenda resented <br /> pp g en as p <br /> seconded by Steve Scott. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> y <br /> 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES —FEBRUARY 24 2009 <br /> Ms. Hilgers requested that both high school students and college students be asked to volunteer <br /> for the community clean up event, and that this be reflected in the previous minutes. <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Scott motioned to approve the minutes as amended above, <br /> , <br /> seconded by Committee Member Baumann. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> y <br /> 4. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUISINESS <br /> A. Ice Rink Season Review <br /> Ms. Olson reviewed the 2008-2009 ice rink season information with the Committee stating the <br /> weather was very cooperative. She included the attendance records and compared It to previous <br /> year's numbers. Ms. Olson stated Freeway Park was the most utilized this past winter with <br /> . <br /> 1,698 users. She indicated the public works department would be doing an inspection of all the <br /> rinks and preparing a repair punch list that will be presented to Council. Staff did not anticipate <br /> any major repairs after the season and was very pleased with the newly renovated warming <br /> house at Hazelnut. <br />
