PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> June 16, 2009 <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> Council Liaison Holmes explained that if the TCAAP site were to become ark p land that this <br /> would be a Ramsey County park with them carrying the responsibility for the expenses but <br /> would be available to the Arden Hills residents and the surrounding area. <br /> Chair Peck questioned how the Council was proceeding at this time with <br /> p g the TCAAP site. <br /> Council Liaison Holmes stated there was a 3/2 majority at this time to continue gp <br /> ursuin ark <br /> p <br /> land for the TCAAP site. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding cleaning of the TCAAP site. <br /> Chair Peck indicated he would be attendingthis hearing to gather information ` <br /> g g tion on the topic and <br /> would like to see the PTRC present a resolution. All other Committee Members indicated they <br /> would be attending as well. <br /> Council Member Holden explained that the Arm and GSA has made a statement Cement that they <br /> would do what the community wants, which has led the Council to seek support for recreational <br /> use of the land. She indicated the DNR has designated the whole TCAAP area a wildlife <br /> corridor. <br /> Chair Peck asked if the site could be developed in the future. Council Member Holden stated <br /> this would be difficult and that the sustainability would not be there unless public funds were <br /> available. <br /> D. 'frail Signage Discussion <br /> Ms. Olson explained she was working on a trail si a e plan for the City and co. gn g p y could bring a draft <br /> plan forward later this summer. She suggested this item be tabled for discussion at a future <br /> meeting. <br /> Ms. Olson stated that a bench implementation program was suggested <br /> ed by Council Liaison <br /> Holmes. She noted an inventory was being taken at this time to see where the g ap s were within <br /> the parks and trails. Ms. Olson indicated she began the inventory and would also recommend the <br /> City adopt a memorial bench program. <br /> Ms. O'Malley questioned the expense of the benches. Ms. Olson stated <br /> d there was a wide range, <br /> anywhere from $500-11000+, but were high quality and lasted longer than those built by staff. <br /> E.
