MEMORANDUM <br />Item LC <br />DATE: October 19, 2009 <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Ron Moorse, City Administrator <br />SUBJECT: Goal Setting Retreat Proposal <br />Background: <br />Kent Eklund, who facilitated our 2009 goal setting process last December, is interested in <br />facilitating our goal setting process again this year. Kent has suggested a broader process this <br />year to provide additional background and insights to assist him in facilitating the goal setting <br />process. I have attached Kent's proposal. As the proposal indicates, the cost would be $2,500. <br />The cost for the 2009 goal setting process was $2,100. Two council members have suggested <br />that the goal setting retreat be held in January rather than December, to avoid the busy-ness of <br />the holiday season. Kent is fine with that schedule, although the preliminary work would still <br />occur yet this year. <br />Council Direction Requested: <br />Direction regarding whether the retreat proposal is acceptable, and regarding the timing of a goal <br />setting retreat. <br />
