Eklund, Cincinnatus <br />Subject: Proposal to support the City Council of Arden Hills in the 2009 goal planning <br />process <br />This year I would propose a two-phase process with more involvement by Cincinnatus in the <br />front end of the process than in 2008. The planning phase would include a one -hour <br />interview with each councilperson and the mayor exploring progress on the goals set at the <br />end of 2008, perceptions of how the council has worked together this year, and perceptions <br />of how the council is working with the staff. The final portion of the interviews will be a <br />preliminary discussion of the goals for 2010 framed around the broad view of what the <br />council wants its legacy to be, and the narrower view of what the council wants to <br />accomplish in 2010 as part of its legacy. Based on these interviews, I would meet with the <br />council at a work session in early fall to review the results and set the stage for the second <br />phase of the process. <br />The second phase would then be a facilitated half -day planning session in late November or <br />early December focusing on the key goals for 2010. I would facilitate that session and write <br />up a brief report for your review. <br />My fee for this two -phased approach would be $2,500 <br />CINCINNATUS INC.
