Fran Holmes, the city councilwoman, is a good neighbor that we are proud to know because she has a history of fighting for what is best for our neighborhood and the City. We spoke with Fran on Thursday, September 17th. We shared with Fran that we are deeply disturbed and concerned that the value of our home and property is in serious jeopardy due to the construction of a wooden privacy fence that is being constructed by the new homeowners occupying the house that adjoins our two properties. The fence violates the City of Arden Hills ordinance on each requirement. We want swift action to be taken to stop the construction of the fence immediately so the ordinance can be properly enforced. The ordinance stipulates: I - Fences in side or rear yards may not exceed six (6) feet in height in all residential districts.* 2. Fences may be placed along lot lines provided no damage of any kind results to the abutting property.* I That side of the fence considered to be the face (facing as applied to fence posts) shall face toward adjoining prolperty.* *http://www.ci.arden-hills.nm.us/vertical/Sites/ The fence violates each stipulation in the ordinance: 12/7/2009
