PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> December 15, 2009 <br /> Page 5 of 5 <br /> 5. REPORTS <br /> A. Report from the City Council <br /> Council Liaison Holmes gave an update on the Council actions from the past few months. She <br /> indicated there were several openings on the Committee and encouraged the members to seek <br /> potential newcomers. <br /> Council Liaison Holmes explained the Council passed the budget at their last meeting with taxes <br /> expected to raise roughly $20 per year. She reported the Council was looking at a new <br /> development of affordable housing near County Road F across from Guidant. <br /> Council Liaison Holmes reviewed the latest TCAAP information with the Committee noting the <br /> northern part of the site would become park land. She indicated the Council and RamseyCounty <br /> Y <br /> was working on a 150 foot wide trail corridor that would connect County Road 96 on the east <br /> side of the National Guard property up to the wildlife corridor. <br /> Council Liaison Holmes noted the City Administrator Moorse would be leaving Y the City in <br /> January and that the Council would begin searching for a new City Administrator. Sue Iverson <br /> would serve as the Interim City Administrator in the meantime. <br /> B. Parks and Recreation/Public Works Update <br /> Ms. Olson indicated all ice rinks were now open, except Valentine Park. She stated Valentine <br /> Park was partially delayed due to complications with the warming house building, but should be <br /> open shortly. <br /> Ms. Olson explained she would continue to be busy working on grant applications and looked <br /> forward to hearing on the pending projects in January. She noted she would be taking a vacation <br /> in January for two weeks. <br /> Ms. Olson thanked the Committee for all of their hard work during 2009 and all of the <br /> accomplishments that have taken place. She indicated she is really looking forward to all that <br /> will happen in 2010. <br /> Council Liaison Holmes agreed and thanked the Committee for all of their efforts on behalf of <br /> the City. <br /> 6. NEXT MEETING—Tuesday,January 12, 2010 <br /> The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. Please note that this <br /> meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of the month in January. <br /> 7. ADJOURNMENT <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Baumann motioned to adjourn and Committee Member <br /> Peterson seconded. The meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m. <br />
