Work Plan for 2010—Goals and Expectations <br /> Ms. Olson included in the packets the 2009 goals and work plan. She explained the Committee <br /> has accomplished nearly all of the goals established within the work plan. <br /> Ms. Olson then reviewed potential goals for 2010 and asked that the Committee consider further <br /> goals and expectations for 2010. <br /> Mr. Peterson suggested the bocce golf course relocation be added to the goals for 2010. Ms. <br /> Olson felt this would fit under the first goal and would be written into the Park and Recreation <br /> work plan. <br /> Council Liaison Holmes stated the Council's main focus at this time was Valentine Park. She <br /> recommended the Committee focus on this issue for 2010. <br /> Ms. Olson asked if there were any items she could add to the list. <br /> A member suggested an item be added to encourage the City to continue to work with Ramsey <br /> County on things mutually beneficial projects and activities. Ms. Olson and the Committee <br /> agreed with this suggestion. <br /> Ms. O'Malley suggested an additional goal be written to encourage the City to enhance and add <br /> improved recreational opportunities within City parks. The Committee agreed with this <br /> suggestion. <br /> Council Liaison Holmes stated the Council has made a $5,000 a year commitment to benches. <br /> She indicated the Committee would need a bench implementation policy to address this funding. <br /> Ms. Olson stated this could be reviewed annually to address where new benches could be located <br /> throughout the City. <br /> Mr. Straumann stated Greg Mack was pursuing the possibility of cross country skiing in the <br /> AHATS property next winter, along the Rice Creek Corridor. <br /> Ms. Olson thanked the Committee for their comments and stated she would submit these goals to <br /> the Council. She then handed out a meeting schedule for 2010. <br /> Mr. Messerly reported that Lake Valentine continues to drain and was currently down 16-18 <br /> inches from its previous level. He predicted the parking lot would not flood next spring. <br />
