AR- DEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—January 11, 2010 22
7.D. City Administrator Transition Process (continued)
Councilmember Holden asked if Arden Hills is currently in the 10,000 and over
category.
Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated the last number he had seen
for population was under 10,000 and this was from the Met Council and the State
of Minnesota.
Acting City Administrator Iverson stated currently Arden Hills is not a City of
10,000 or more.
Mayor Harpstead stated the use of the Holiday Inn by Northwestern College
should be captured in these numbers. He asked if this was the case.
Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated he did not know but this had
been brought up to the census officials to be sure they were aware of this.
Councilmember Holden stated it should be clear in the announcement that the
City does not have their own police and fire and these are contract services. She
also stated the announcement should include something about the City being
financially sound.
Mr. Fursman stated this could be added to the description and could be added to
the profile as well.
The Council was asked if there had been a consensus reached.
Councilmember McClung stated he agreed.
Councilmember Grant stated he agreed.
Councilmember Holden stated it should be explicitly stated that the candidate
must be able to work with Mn/DOT.
Mayor Harpstead restated the items that the Council would like to see added to
the announcement. These items were: adding financial stable or fiscally stable,
changing the salary range, the number of full time employees, the date for
accepting applications as ending on February 8, and the City contracts police and
fire services.
