Parks,Trails&Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes January 12,2010 <br /> Page 6 <br /> Chair Peck asked if there were any additional comments or suggestions for the goals <br /> since they will be going to Council for approval. <br /> Committee Member O'Malley indicated she thinks they are well written and what the <br /> committee wanted. <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Garretson motioned to confirm the 2010 Goals and <br /> expectations as outlined. Committee Member O'Malley seconded. The <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> Council Liaison Grant questioned if the goals and expectations were written by the <br /> committee. Chair Peck indicated that the goals evolve each year. Ms. Olson indicated <br /> the Purpose Mission was written by the Mayor and then the committee reviewed and <br /> offered comments and revisions. She indicated the goals were reviewed and edited by <br /> the Committee are our December meeting. <br /> Ms. Olson asked if everyone was comfortable having her put this into a work plan like <br /> she did last year and asked if anyone felt the order of the priorities should be changed. <br /> She indicated that some of the goals are ongoing, some are specific, and some rely on <br /> when they hear back from certain grants. <br /> Committee Member Scott stated he was under the impression they had always gone by <br /> the premise of the Valentine flooding issue being the number one priority. <br /> Ms. Olson indicated that Council would like to wait for the spring thaw. <br /> Council Member Messerly commented that he has a question on point of order and does <br /> not feel they are following Roberts Rules of Order. He indicated he felt the order very <br /> confusing. Any other new business and any other old business should be added to the <br /> agenda. <br /> Discussion ensued and Ms. Olson will revise the agenda for the next meeting. <br /> The Committee consensus was for Ms. Olson to put the goals into a work plan. <br /> C. Any Other Unfinished Business <br /> Council Member Messerly questioned if the Committee needed to be sworn in since it <br /> was a new year. He stated he would leave the decision up to the committee. <br /> Discussion ensued on this matter. <br />
