EDC Minutes
December 16, 2009
D. 2010 Goals/Projects
Mr. Kunkel stated the annual business meeting was also an effective way to draw together the
local businesses, whether through a luncheon or breakfast. He suggested this be held again in
June of 2010. The Commission was in favor with this suggestion.
UPDATES
A. TCAAP & Other Projects
Community Development Director Lehnhoff noted there were several new developments with
TCAAP. He indicated the public auction was moving forward and the first bidder's conference
was held in October. The auction was anticipated to be held next summer.
Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated the City would need to have land use
regulations in place before that time. The Council did try and pursue a regional park for the
TCAAP site, which was unsuccessful. However, the Board did have interest in a portion of the
property for recreational uses.
Community Development Director Lehnhoff indicated the Council will likely be passing a
resolution of support for a 150 foot wide trail corridor along the eastern side of the property from
the wildlife corridor to County Road 96. This land would be County property and would allow
for access to the AHATS site.
Community Development Director Lehnhoff reviewed a map of the property with the superfund
sites, not at an industrial development level. He explained these spots would normall have to be
y
cleaned before a sale, but the Army was looking at licensing the superfund sites until they are
cleaned.
Mr. Kunkel questioned if this would be a one owner purchase. Community Development
Director Lehnhoff stated this would be the case.
Chair von Holtum asked how the Army was qualifying potential buyers. Community
Development Director Lehnhoff indicated the City was given this information or how the Army
was going to assure the superfund sites would be cleaned.
Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated the City was trying to get a list of potential
buyers that attended the bidder's conference. At this time, the information was unavailable, but
it appears there was only one buyer attending, Ryan Companies.
Further discussion ensued regarding the access issues to the TCAAP site along with the potential
land uses for the area.
